Holy moly! Mother Nature certainly showed up with the wind last night. We’re sure many of you have seen them by now, but results from the final Sundown Series race have been posted, and the season standings have been updated to reflect the completed series. When you navigate to the Sundown Series page on GybeHub, simply click Standings in the event menu. Among the podium positions, PHRF B finished with a three-way points tie, while Cruising had a two-way points tie. The final finishing positions were determined in accordance with the tie-breaking procedures in the Racing Rules of Sailing, Appendix A8. We also want to remind everyone about the Annual Awards Party on Friday, November 6. Flags and (and a new trophy) will be presented to our winners from the Sundown Series, Peche Island–Detroit River Classic, Annual Regatta, Lady Meggan Race, and Frostbite Race. We’re also looking forward to presenting a new trophy this year. Finally, thank you to all of our racers and especially to our Race Committee for another outstanding season. The Sundown Series is one of the great sailing traditions on Lake St. Clair, and it only continues because of the people who come out week after week to race, volunteer, and support it. Tomorrow marks the final Sundown Series race of the year! The weather is looking a bit sporty, but we're looking forward to wrapping up another great season of racing. Racers, As the racing season approaches its conclusion, we want to make sure you have two upcoming celebrations on your calendars! **Final Race Party – Tuesday, September 22** Our traditional end-of-season race party has a slight change of venue this year. Following the final Sundown Series race on Tuesday, September 22, we'll gather at Windmill Pointe Park to celebrate the conclusion of another great racing season. Free pizza and refreshments will be served. We hope to see everyone there! **Annual Awards Party – Friday, November 6** Although this date has been published in the race documents since late March, we want to remind everyone that our Annual Awards Party will take place on Friday, November 6. All podium finishers and their crews from any GPSC event will be invited to celebrate, including those who placed in the Sundown Series, Annual Regatta, Peche Island–Detroit River Classic, and our club races. More details about the awards party will follow as the date approaches, but please mark your calendars now. We look forward to celebrating another great season of racing with all of you!

Good morning, racers! If you haven’t checked yet, results from last night’s racing are now available! Our Race Committee has been focused on getting results out as quickly as possible, and in most cases this season, results have been posted within 45 minutes of the race’s conclusion. We’re also told that by next racing season, GybeHub will have a phone app that can notify racers immediately when results are posted, which will help us take that effort one step further. Good morning, racers! Photographer Mike Florian loves capturing a good downwind start, and we’re grateful that he comes out on his own accord to take some of these amazing photos. If you raced last night, there’s a pretty good chance he got a great shot of you and your crew! We also want to remind everyone that our own in-house photographer and videographer, Jenny, usually has some great footage of the starts to share afterward at Marge’s Bar on Mack Ave. Marge’s has always shown our sailing community tremendous hospitality, so we hope you’ll join the unofficial post-race gathering there after the races. Dear Racers, Amendment #1 to the Sailing Instructions has been withdrawn. The Sailing Instructions therefore revert to their originally posted form. As a result, the previously added Multihull Class in Start #5 has been removed and will no longer be part of the starting sequence. Please refer to the current Sailing Instructions on the GybeHub event page for the official starting sequence and race information. As a reminder, we invite all racers to the race party at Windmill Pointe Marina immediately after the race.

Dear skippers, the race committee is only overriding your submitted ratings based on your current MWPHRF certificate. As a reminder, we use DHCP for the PHRF and cruising classes, and DNSHCP for JAM.
