Welcome to the inaugural Grosse Pointe Sail Club Peche Island Detroit River Classic, an exciting new standalone weeknight race open to sailors from all clubs. The first edition of this unique event will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Designed as a marquee mid-season race, the Peche Island Detroit River Classic offers competitors a memorable course through one of the most iconic sailing corridors in the region. The race will start and finish off Windmill Pointe, taking competitors around Peche Island through both U.S. and Canadian waters, creating a distinctive cross-border course that highlights the beauty and challenge of the Detroit River. As an added benefit, all boats registered for either the Spring Sundown Series, the Summer Sundown Series, or both, will receive complimentary entry to this special event.
